Default Diff mounts

Anyone got any experiences of Innovative diff mounts? I see they come in a range of Shore hardness', (PU) from 65 ("street") all the way up to 95 for extreme race or something. Anyone used any of these these and care to weigh in on noise/vibration vs hardness. I'm inclined to go for something in the "track" range, around 75a if memory serves, but I'm mindful that the car spends most of the time taking me to work so I don't want get white finger on the way...

Sorry, I meant 60A. Still stiffer than OEM?

Did a bit of research on this not long ago. The general consensus seems to be that stiffer mounts are (obviously) better, but bring with them an increase in cabin noise/vibration. For some people that's a good trade-off, while others find it unbearable and switch back to OEM within days.

I went for the Hasport diff mounts with 62A Urethane. They're stiffer than stock, but shouldn't rattle me to death. They're not on my car yet so I can't post any results, but they do come highly recommended.

In your case I'd go for the milder option (65A Innovative or 62A Hasport). Also bear in mind that Spoon and Mugen sell OEM style mounts with slightly stiffer rubber, so that's an option too.

Thanks mate that's good info. However , my car was shaking itself to bits so had to prioritise action over research. But did come to similar conclusion in terms of the trade off between stiffness and cabin drama, and opted for the 65A Innovative mounts. You can see the state of the problem mount in the thread I had in parallel to this one, but I replaced all four whilst I was as it

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...1171040/page2/

There is the slightest discernible change in cabin vibration, but I really do mean slight. As in, its only by having put in thousands of miles in the car that I'm aware of a difference. A passenger, I suspect, would not notice anything out of the ordinary.

Fitting was technically fairly straight forward, but because there's zero room to manoeuvre, and I made some pretty dumb errors, it ended up taking me most of the day!

Whoops, I didn't realise the thread was a couple of weeks old.

Glad to hear that you're getting on with the Innovative mounts. That old OEM was knackered!

My rear subframe isn't on the car, so fitting the mounts will be a piece of cake. Getting the old ones off was a PITA though.

Ahhh so envious! You'll swerve the ballache of unwinding the sway bar bolts 1/8th of a turn at a time
