Default Diff rebuild prices

Hi guys, looking at costs for rebuilding a diff, TGM has quoted 250-300 to rebuild the diff and swap it onto the car but also said it may go up as it is fiddly and may require more hours.

What sort of price (and where in south) should I be looking at for someone to build a diff and fit it to my car? I would DIY but the tolerances appear very high.

Thanks guys

I would snap their hand off at that price.

If it not being rebuild for a specific reason, such as changing the final drive, I'd be tempted to just get one from a breaker.

If you go this route, facelifts have a revised stronger diff casing.

It's a new final drive and all the new bits with a fresh powder-coated casing. I obviously didn't explain too well haha they will take all the parts and put it together then swap my diff with this new one after they have put it together. So essentially I will have a whole new diff in pieces needs putting together and swapping with mine...

I don't think that's true, as the part numbers are exactly the same (41170-PCZ-003)

Some more research on the US parts sites reveals it was changed on the AP2 after 06 when the part no was 41170-PCZ-A51

Another good reason for not calling our facelift cars AP2, that could have been an expensive mistake if other bits are different as well.

Plenty of transmission places can have that diff rebuilt for good money, and parts are reasonably easy to come by.
