Dilemma - S2000 or BMW 420d M Sport convertible?
I have a 05MY which I love but because I work for BMW for the last 5 months over the winter have had a 330d as a company car. It is very quick but does that have the same thrill as my S2000, maybe due to lack of roof down days and VTEC?
I have had my S off the road for the last 5 months and my plan was to get it back on the road in April and use it for 6 months over the summer.
Now the dilemma - I now can change the 330d for a 420d M Sport convertible in April (for 6 months). What should I do, the S2000 or 420d M Sport convertible? I drive 130 mile round journey to work - half of that on a boring straight A road and the rest on country roads.

If it was me and based only on the effects of current foul weather on our roads, I'd go with the BM. Once the sun comes out, sell the S for top dollar and consider buying another in the autumn.

If its a company car and your not paying apart from tax etc its a no brainer. Take the new car and either store your S properly if you want to keep it or sell it and keep the money to buy another when you want one back

Personally, I doubt that anyone's point of view would sway you that much in the end anyway. I guess I would go with the answer you more than likely new before you wrote the thread and probably will decided on no matter what anyone says in this thread anyway
Happy decision making!

Stick with the 330 as daily chugger and S for weekend blats

That 420 does look pretty nice.
I would just try it and see if you enjoy it.
I personally think it you like the feel of the S then the BMW would be quite boring as I bet it weights quite a bit. But it's always fun to try new cars

Think your making this more difficult than it is.
Can you afford to have both cars if so keep the S, its as simple as that.
I've gotta 335d coupe and it's no way as fun to drive nor special, you felt connected to the s and there's no emotion with the bmw plus it's a diesel.
There will be a million other 420ds on the road, the only thing with my 335d is you don't see many but the shape of that 3 series you do.
I love both cars but they are chalk and cheese the 335d is definitely a 'tool' they both have their merits.

I can't afford to have both the S2000 & 420d convertible during the summer. The 420d convertible is the new version that has just been released (based on the coupe shape) so there won't be many on the road.
