Dilemma with Stratstone Honda Leeds
Before I start this is not a post to say stay away just that I would appreciate some advise from fellow owners.
After a long weekend around Scotland last week I had a terrible noise coming from the nearside rear and almost definately concluded it was the wheel bearing so booked in for today for them to fix.
Late in the afternoon I recieve a call from them and the receptionist says that I also need another new part.
She toddles off to find the information of the part I need and she comes back and tells me that I need the top wishbone.
I ask to speak to Paul their techy guy who is in a meeting. He has always been a pleasant bloke with all my other dealings with Honda so I thought I would speak to him first.
My first thoughts was bushes so I start looking up for replacements as a cheaper alternative thinking well I might aswell change them all.
Our engineers at Ginetta are using the powerflex ones on the new G50 so I new I could get them at a good price and they probably could do with doing.
All my hard work in searching was in vain after Paul rang me back and told me that they had threaded the balljoint nut as it was a bit rusted ...they had used an air gun to get it off and ssubsequently buggered it up.
Oh dear.
He then said that he would be able to replace the unit at cost price of

I can't comment on the particular issue but have met Paul when I have had mine serviced there and he seems like a nice bloke - will leave the advice to ones who know more about the issue you have than I do.
Hope it gets sorted!

it is the horsforth branch....
but is it me or are we all having some issues a little bit more than what is normal from the dealers at the moment or am i wearing those glasses that are looking through the worst in people lately..
where is customer satisfaction and come back again mode gone
not looking good for the honda car side of things..i wonder if my choice of staying with italian bikes was the best thing i did and i don't trust them either after a few bad experiences...
makes you glad you have a socket set and a few friends at hand ..
suppose i will live and learn with honda...there is bad and there is even worse by the sounds of it.
you don't know what shit is till it hits you in the wallet...
good bye future honda purchase by the sounds of it ..bike or car..

Use the city center one if you can. They're not brilliant, but they are better.
The problem is you only tend to see the bad stories on t'internet. It's not a very interesting story saying. I paid the dealer to do a job and he did it.

My mistake - yes Horsforth one IS bad - get to Whitehall where the techy guy is a master technician (for what it's worth)
I know a couple of other S owners have had bad experiences there - whenever I get mine serviced at Whitehall there are always 3 or 4 other S's in getting serviced
