Disc skimming

Disc skimming
Usual disclaimer; apologies in advance if this is a daft question, but...
Can S2000 rear discs be skimmed still on the car?
I wondered if the same principle applies as when the car is towed, i.e. the wheel turning the diff, rather than the diff turning the wheels, can damage the diff.
All advice gratefully received.
Cheers,

Why bother? New discs are cheap
Probably not much load

I had some brake work done a few years back, the garage ordered in the wrong rear disks, so they had the originals skimmed (off the car) to save time, they actually tried to charge me more for having them skimmed that replace them and of course skimming means they are closer to the service limit. I ended up not being charged for them being skimmed.
So don't bother.

I've got a BBK on the front and Stoptech on the rear, both in very good condition (no lip/ridges) so it's better economy to get them skimmed.
So the question still remains - will on car skimming hurt the diff?
Anyone?...

As for on car skimming, that's new to me.

I had the same diff concerns about the forced rotation of one wheel at a time on the rear - When I looked I couldn't actually find anywhere that would skim them on the car so turned out to be a moot point!

Given that most warping is just a build up of brake pad material, a light skim seems to be the obvious choice.
Google threw up a few hits with people suggesting that a going over with a scotchbrite pad can cure it; anyone ever heard of this? Sounds a bit far fetched to me but for the sake of an hour of my time I'm happy enough to whip the discs off and give it a go...
