DIY roof well mat for under 15 quid
Those of us with early cars know the joy of the plastic rear window scuffing up. The amazing BMW plastic window
cleaner is great for polishing out the scratches but I thought it was about time to give the old girl's roof a more comfy
place to sleep when down.
Rather than cutting down a bath mat or similar I found a huge gaming mouse mat on amazon for under 11 quid
that fits the bill nicely.
Combine this with a couple of metres of black felt, also from amazon for less than 4 quid:
and a bit of double sided carpet tape...
and robert's your mother's brother, ready to go on the rear shelf!
I used the rest of the felt to wrap around a section of pipe insulation to make a roller to sit inside the fold when down for protracted periods.
Then time to get out the BMW polish and take out the scratches...

Why didn't I do this years ago?!
