Indicators should flash three times when you lock the car. Once when you unlock it.

I guys sorted the problem
car is garaged and I have the bonnet cracked open with a c tek charger on so I
disconnected the c tek
closed the bonnet proper and bingo all is fine can go to bed without it bugging me all night
I guess there is a switch on bonnet to stop it been nicked or something like that thanks john

Disconnect the electrical connector from the bonnet latch and try again. If the indicators flash as expected, then the issue is a faulty sensor in the latch itself.
