Do s2000 Catalytic Converters Get Stolen
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to post this up, as we have had a several reports of catalytic converters being stolen in our area (North London) They targeted a 2003 Honda Jazz this week, our neighbour had to fork out £500 to replace the entire system (pattern parts) They seem to target the Honda Jazz, Accords and Prius (Also sprinter vans and 4x4s due to their clearance) This has been going on for many years and probably not much that the police can do. If they do nab your CAT, it will cost an arm and leg to sort as they will probably chop of both sections of the flanges and you most likely need a new entire exhausts system Are s2000's a target? I think the OEM cat is a high flow type but does it still contain much precious metals inside them when compared to a Honda Jazz for instance? https://www.newhamrecorder.co.uk/new...heft-1-5856181 |
Gonna make a lot of noise hammering the cat off a S2000. They're typically too rusted to unbolt.

'Weld the bolts'.
Is that what is known as Police Intelligence..? Electric pad saw will go through the pipe in under a minute. |
Had mine stolen off a Boxer van,
Quiet dead end road and didnt hear anything in the night, only noticed when starting the van and was noisy exhaust, popped head under to take a look and the cat was gone the cuts were so clean and no burr on them must of used some thing like a plumbers pipe cutter ( but obviously big enough for an exhaust and strong enough for steel ) i just stright piped the missing bit as a fix OEM cats are worth quite a bit when scraped but Blueprint/Patten parts are not. there is usually a stamp/embosed logo on the casing which lets you know if its OEM as the patten parts do not have it |
