The bottom end has gone on my 2005 s2000 and i am looking for a new engine.

A guy has offered me a 2008 drive by wire engine.

Question is.
If i fit my old intake manifold and swap the timing cover to my old one. plus the rocker cover will this work.

I vaguely remember a thread about this and it became more complicated because the crank position sensor wheel has a different number of teeth, if I remember correctly

Believe all the '06 and later (DBW) engines (both AP1 and AP2 displacement) require a specific '06 and later ECU. Nice thing will be you'll be able to FlashPro tune the car. 3600rpm VTEC is a game changer. (Requires changing fuel and timing in the ECU, of course. Tread lightly.)

you have to change over the cam cover, cam and crank sensor wheels which means removing the timing cover which is on dowels and trapped between the head and sump
