Does anyone have a stoptech big break kit on the back?
I have a stoptech bbk on the front breaks, 328 x 28 grooved breaks, really good I find!
I now want to change to a 322 x 22 on the back by stoptec, grooved breaks.
I spoke to someone and they said it disables your handbreak as they are made for track racing? Is this true??
What do you think of them if you have them?

Ye, no handbrake as it doesn't have the mechanism.
I think hi spec do a rear kit that you can use the handbrake with.
The rears get so much hotter than the fronts now (I have stoptech front too). There is a diy on rear under car brake ducts somewhere, I've done it on mine.
Oh, brake not break by the way

The problem with the HiSpec is although it has a handbrake setup it doesnt work.....ask Matty.Ive had my rear calipers modified by HiSpec and had custom cables made exactly the same as Matt hoping that I would have a decent handbrake but it seem like its not going to happen.
My car is having its first MOT with the handbrake, what do I do if it fails the test because of the hand brake?
The first thing will be to insert the rear calipers into HiSpecs arse then sit around with my massive investment parked because ive got no handbrake.
If they were giving away free brake kits I would probably turn them down, but unfortunatly I paid £3000 for it.

So there is no option for a big break kit for the back of the car hat allows the handbreak to be kept?
maybe i should just upgrade discs and pads and be done with it.

S2000_Fun aka Chris has a larger diameter rear disc conversion which retains the handbrake. I really cant see the benefit of a BBK on the rear unless you are racing the car regularly. Even Mark who's running his car in the VTEC challenge series has not changed to an aftermarket calliper set up. Upgraded discs and pads should be enough on the rear irrespective of power output..
