Does removing the air box cover do any damage?

The noise is nice but I couldn't live with the performance loss and the poor drive in traffic so I got a T1-R. Even more noise and a performance gain. Win-win

i lost 8 hp on the rolling road today with the air box lid removed

Yes, you lose some power, but an S2000 at 95% power with the induction noise is still a lot more fun than most other cars on the road.

Mine was always off ...

I have to admit,i polished the car today and stuck it back on while cleaning the engine bay.Went for wee drive but i was missing the racket.So i stopped,removed the cover and slung it in the boot.I like the noise!

Mine was also off all the time until the K&N Gen II went on.
