Does removing the air box cover do any damage?

The noise is nice but I couldn't live with the performance loss and the poor drive in traffic so I got a T1-R. Even more noise and a performance gain. Win-win

I have to admit,i polished the car today and stuck it back on while cleaning the engine bay.Went for wee drive but i was missing the racket. So i stopped, removed the cover and slung it in the boot.I like the noise!
