driver door jammed closed
this is quite frustrating but my drivers door will not open, even with the key. the lock button appears to be jammed in the lock position.
is there a way to remove the door panel with the door closed? i have seen there are instructions regarding removing the panel with the drivers door opened...
i have tried wd40... all i had to hand at work... through the key slot but no luck. key turns but wont open.
booked in for 81k service a week thursday but cant wait till then to get this fixed...
any ideas much appreciated. also if there is any way to open the petrol cap without opening the drivers door, that would be useful... sheesh meant to be going on holiday tomorrow too
it never rains but it pours

Long shot but if you use a long nozzle, you might get WD40 down to the inside of the latch (on the back of the door jamb) if you lower the window & squirt in that way. It's usually the mechanism & not the lock barrel that's full of crud/dry.
Also whilst you're there, looking backwards, make a Harvey Smith with yer right hand then shove yer fingers between the seat bolster & the door; you can easily reach the filler release like that.

Penelope Pitstop has a similar intermittent problem like yours. I managed to open her door for her by repeatedly podging the unlock button on the fob and pulling on the door handle. It seems like quite a few door actuators are failing just recently.

Check the simple things first...
Battery.
Key fob working.
Alarm system.
Have your ear close to the door lock and listen for anything working inside.
Open manually via key doesn't work as you said so i wonder if its a rod inside.
Check the above, if not its likely take the door panel off (easy 15min job) and have a butchers inside at rods and door release inside.
I fear its the door look actuator TBH - which i have fixed in the past.
