Eagle F1 AS2
 

My car needs 4 new tyres, currently I'm on RE050As 215/45/17 front and S001 225/45/17 rear. Wheels areNon-stagger ET45 7.5x17 all around and I like this setup, it handles well and lowers the risk of aquaplane versus 245 rears.

The S001s are impressive, especially in wet - allowing full power in 1st on wet roads - I think they are a better tyre that the RE050A. Downside is they haven't haven't lasted that long (6k miles) nor do Bstone do them in 215/45/17 so I can't get a matching set. Infact they no longer seem to do the vanilla RE050A in that size either looking on Event tyres

I'm tempted to try these new F1AS2. Now I'm normally worried about sidewall stiffness, however since the poly bushes I could do with a bit of give in the tyres to help improve the ride over broken road surfaces as well as potentially provide a bit of give/bite to help rear corner grip on bumpier roads. The reviews of these tyres have been very good. :drool:

Has anyone gone from Bridgestones to the F1AS2s? For info I am also running a WIM setup with 1.5 deg front and 2 deg rear camber on stdish ride height with Koni dampers. The inside front Edges have worn right down with 2-3mm on the rest of the tyre but I blame too many straight roads for that, although going softer sidewalls may increase this wear rate.

I'm running the Assym 2 OEM sizes extra load tyre. No problems and like them a lot, grippier than the BS in the wet and a lot quieter than the old GSD3s that I used to have. I noticed the smoother ride as soon as I had them on the car but they might have a little more sidewall flex than the BS.

I went through the following:
OEM wheels and BS RE050MZ
OEM Wheels with the GY Assym (1)
CE28n with GY Eagle F1 GSD3
CE28N with GY Assym 2.

I don't see any reason to switch to a different tyre at the moment unless they bring out some wider sizes like a 255/40

Thanks are you running 94Y or 91Y on the rear?

Not 100% relevant but I'm running the original Assyms (1) and wouldn't change back to Bridgestones.

if the 94 is the extra load version, them.

I switched from RE050s to the Eagle Asymetrics and they are much much better IMO :)
