@Nick Graves at the time of thinking of putting it away in the garage over here it was in its current state, only just popped over 100k, all fine, and maybe take the cover off in 5 or 10 years time. Keep it longer/put it on the road or see it as an investment, but that option seems less of an investment or collector piece now.
Is 'matching numbers' such a thing for an old Honda?

An M-B 300SL maybe.

Are you sure the engine really is kaput, is the bottom end damage confirmed?
Seems like it might "just" have overheated and maybe blown the head gasket.

Mechanic said when he tried to turn it over it was seized, free'd it off an has zero compression, and bottom end knocking like a teenager home late without his keys!

Some insurance companies it makes no difference, but for some it will carry a premium, and some wont touch it.
I'm guessing the car is insured in Gibraltar as I do know it is registered here? If so, then Gibraltar does not really work on the same principal as the UK. CAT C/D etc does not exist here so would not be recorded anywhere Dave. Definitely not an ideal scenario for any future buyer but right now for your predicament, it does make a buy back scenario that little bit easier as far as future re-sale goes.
