Default No lights on dash, car not starting, need help

Hi all, went to start the car today and there's no response.

The dash lights don't even come on.

I thought it was the battery at first, so I replaced that today, but to no avail. The alarm disengages as usual and none of the fuses under the dash or the engine bay needed replacing.

Any ideas what it could be?

Been doing some more investigating and the key is turning in the lock barrel, but not disengaging the wheel lock. I'm thinking it's something do to with this.

Would I need to replace the whole barrel and get my key coded again? Or is there an easier fix?

The switch, the lock and the immobiliser are separate components.

You could take the switch off the back and turn it manually.

I take it you wiggled the steering wheel to see if it frees?

Weird, no lights even when you disarm the alarm?

Is it getting any ignition power at all?

Checked the earth strap off the battery to the bodywork? Failing that it's steering . / ignition cowl off and have a look at the wiring.

Just a thought, you say you checked the fuses but did you check the 100A fuse in the fuse box ?

And are you sure you didnt compound the issue by fitting the battery the wrong way around ..... if so, see above.

No idea, drove the car fine last weekend. Went to it yesterday and it wouldn't start.

Need to find a solution and get it fixed.

Not sure if I can just get another barrel and key or if I'd need a new key coded to the barrel.
