Excellent Elephant

Just got my insurance renewal and for an old git with full no claims, they want Pds444. That's down from 570 last year and I'm well impressed:)

Hmmm....I left Elephant on renewal time as they weren't that copmpetitive...but the main reason was their cover is so poor...no cover on courtesy cars, test drives, lending your car to someone else etc....always wanted

My best quote was with Elephant so I wen't with them. I recently had an incident with a minicab driver who claims not to be at fault although he was in the wrong lane, so the legal ball has started to roll. I always find that insurance companies only come into their own when something happens.

Watch this space!!

Looks like the possibility of the car being stolen factors more in the premium calculation than the risk of a crash.
No speed limit on the IOM but no chance of getting the car off the island when its nicked.

don't elephant insure for 10months unless u state u want 12 month cover?
this happened a while back so dont know if they have changed their policy

You can opt for the 10 month bonus accelerator policy or the regular 12 month policy. It has been a god send to me as I had 0 NCB. I will have 2 years NCB this January after only 20 months.

AB, wouldn't have thought that you nee insurance as your car sounds like it never leaves your garage ;)

Oh no - don't you start. I have a daily beater car for errands etc. The S comes out for weekend blast or the occasional mid week midnight cruise! :)

You have to be careful with the 10 month bonus schemes though - perfect if you stay with Elephant however some insurance companies will not accept the amount of NCB that you build up (this is only what I have heard).

Does/Has anybody had any issues with Elephant?

They've provided me with a very attactive quote compared to my current insurer (Tesco).

UK Paul :
What was the issue re : Poor cover?

Thanks in advance
