Default Exhaust mod done today :)

Had the exhaust mod done today after a lot of thought on doing it. I didn't want to sound like a boyracer and it was hard to tell the noise level from watching Youtube vids i've been watching.
Finally bit the bullet and had it done with 38mm pipes and got to say I'm very pleased with the results, it's quiet at low speeds with a pleasant sportier note and it screams when it's Vtec time No power gains I know but it feels and sounds like a sports car now!!
On a negative not I advise against using Powerflo Exhausts in Bradford as they are pricey bodgers!!!

Best mod by a mile.

EDIT: And all because of oxhouser who's looking at this thread right now. Thank you - you've made many an owner happy.

Did you get them to take the mid box out too? There's a vid on YouTube of a grey s2000 which sounds lush which had it done.
Getting my done next Friday. Can't wait

I've been tempted to get that done on mine. Ideally I'm after a Milltek system but cannot justify the price. This sounds like it may do it.

Is it much louder on motorway speeds or more for higher revs?

It's barely louder at motorway speeds when compared with staaack, maan, and that's the beauty of it...

This is how it is:

Most of the time you won't notice it, unless you're driving between buildings in high revs with your top down. When you give it some, however, that's when it comes alive. What's not to like? It's a cheap mod, doesn't make your ears bleed, is much cheaper than a 'performance' exhaust and gives you what you're looking for when you want it.

Cost wise i was expecting about £80 after reading threads on here, and told him that before he started the job or should i say his worker started the job. When it was all finished the boss was out and had to be rung to give me the price which was £70 a side!! I wasn't having that and told his lad this and the guy dropped to £100 and a couple of nearly new tyres he told me to bring over?? Bit of a joke really but i wasn't going to start arguing with the guy over the phone and his lad was a nice guy.

I also had to buy a new gasket to go between the cat and middle pipe which further p***ed me off

On the plus side it's shocking how good the mod is! There no brash noise when you put your foot down, no drone at any speed and it sounds factory to be honest and Honda should have shipped them sounding like this I didn't take the resonator box off as i have read on here that it loses performance and i'm happy to follow the guys advice as he obviously knew his stuff unlike me.

It's still a bargain i think now I've taken it for a good run, with the top down of course and childishly dropped it down the gears and hit VTec in the tunnels on Leeds ringroad

I was planning on changing the exhaust next year however my cat failed recently. So I fitted a decat pipe and at the same time had the centre silencer removed. The rear backboxes have remained standard.

Car now sounds great, unlike anything else I have ever owned. A very raspy sound
I will have to put some videos up.

Why on earth did Honda make the S2000 so silent as standard ? A sports car needs to make some sort of noise.

That's very reasonable price wise. There's an independent garage here in Glasgow who deals with Hondas. Real nice guy. I'll be taking it him and see what he says.

It is kind of annoying how the s is fairly quiet. It would be nice to have a little more grunt but not in a 'chavy' if there is such a word.
