Default Exhaust recommendations

Hi All,

I'm toying with the possibility of getting a new (or used) exhaust upgrade for the S2K and am just wondering about recommendations. I'm looking at around £650 - £700 to spend, and don't mind importing from the US.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

Whats your criteria?

Dual or Single?

Quite or bleeding ears?

I can only go from personal experience of dual systems but i'd recommend the Mugen dual for its noise and light weight, HKS silent hiPower for the noise and the Amuse Dual ti for its low weight and lovely noise.

The HKS will be only one you'd be buying new at your price point.

Others that sound nice - Tannabe concept G and the Garage R system (assuming you want a dual system) I'm sure others will be along shortly to recommend their fart pipes

Hiya Pie,

Sorry, should have been more specific!

Dual exit,
nice noise, but i'd quite like to keep my ears intact (and the relationship i have with the neighbours!). I don't mind a loudish exhaust, but there needs to be a sensible limit!

Well, all the ones listed above will keep you on speaking terms with your neighbours

Are there any exhausts which give extra BHP? or is it really just for the noise?

As a general rule singles produce more power at the expense of your hearing, the only duals I've seen gains* on are the Mugen and Amuse

*Plenty of info in UTH (Under the Hood) over on the main board, those crazy yanks and their dynos

Agreed, you won't get any power from a cat back unless it's a sinlge combined with other bits.

What you do notice is the weight. The stock exhuast just bewilders me every time I pick one up, it is unbelievably heavy!

What about the HKS Slient Hi-Power Dual... that not supposed to be sexily 'quiet'??

It's louder than a Mugen, but not silly loud, and does drone a bit in the midrange imo.

I'm with Pie but then I'm biased on the Mugen & Amuse
