Default Exhaust surround / cap

Hi all,

Apologies if this is not in the correct place!

Can anyone please tell me what the part number is for the black exhaust surround / cap that can be seen in the below photo?

I somehow seem to have lost the one that was next to my left exhaust tip (no idea how!).

I've carried out a search and cannot seem to find these mentioned anywhere. Although strangely I haven't seen any other S2000's with them on!

I was under the impression that my S2000 (56 plate) was 100% OEM with the exception of the factory aero kit. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

Part number diagrams by model year can be found in the FAQ here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...6/#post5798518

Nothing like this is OEM on the USDM cars. Perhaps a UK dealer option? I've seen aftermarket versions but they're usually a complete half circle (sounds like an oxymoron I know).

Thanks for the help.

The Lings guide is handy and I think I *may* have found it.

Honda Car and Auto Parts | Honda HONDA S2000 | BUMPERS | Genuine Honda Parts | Honda Cars | Honda Motorcycles | Honda Power Products | Lings Honda Car Parts Selection

It looks like it could be:
51 PFKL2518474 PROTECTOR, R. RR. BUMPER

Unfortunately the diagram isn't massively clear! I guess I may just have to order one and see how it goes.

Thanks,

Craig

on the s2000's i have seen including my own they have all only had one, the right one and not one on the left

I wondered what it was when I noticed it on my car and from what I have found out...

Only one on all cars to protect the underside edge of the bumper from the heat from the right side main exhaust.

As far as I am aware they do not appear on the left side as that part of the exhaust is really only a branch and for cosmetic looks only so doesn't get as hot.

How bizarre!

Many thanks for the confirmation. I can't believe it has taken me this long to notice the difference... although now it is probably going to drive me insane that the back end isn't symmetrical! haha.

Cheers,

Craig

Same part, including the part number, shows on the 2006 USDM cars too but there's nothing like the photo on my 2006 car. Not sure what it does but I'll look when I get home. Only of the right side.

Son of a Beach! Or as my sergeant used to say "I'll be dipped in poop!" (Sergeants don't really say poop,of course.)

The thing is there! Left edge of the right exhaust port (only) on my 2006 USDM car. So the part number looks good but only for the right side, nothing is there on the left, just a shadow. Don't know why Honda just put it on the right side.

It's even obvious in the photo I've posted several times and yet again below. Now I know why the spring spacers are still being found in some suspensions. Just can't see some stuff in plain sight.
