Extend service interval?
If the car is only used in summer months, covers less than 2000 miles a year, minimum 20 mile journeys, infrequently vtec'd, kept in heated garage, etc, is it really necessary to put it in for a service every year. Surely, like many modern cars, a 2 year service interval is quite adequate?
A supplementary question, how often do you need to change coolant?

I do less miles than that. I dictate what I want doing. tbh I would always change the oil, just because these engines are like gold dust now..
With my 2001 NA it has full Honda history, my other has chequered. I will service the SC myself but not decided on the original one.

As you do a lot of running with a cold engine, I'd suggest getting oil changed often.
Coolant is after 10 years/120k miles, then every 5 years/60k miles - see the service schedule in the FAQ.

Infrequent VTEC?! Why are you keeping this car?
Replace engine coolant: At 120,000miles (192,000 km) or 10 years, then every 60,000miles (96,000 km) or 5 years. Right out of the USDM manual. I'll bet there's something in the UK manual as well.
Oil change questions are like politics and religion. I'd personally not worry about it especially since I use pure synthetic oil (5W-30). Zealots may attack us both for even thinking of this!
Hydraulic oil absorbs moisture from the air. Replace brake fluid: Every 3 years (independent of mileage). Again, right out of my manual.

I would still change the oil yearly with the miles you are stating.

I cover on average about 1500 miles a year.
20 mile journeys are plenty of time to warm up the engine!
The synthetic oil drains out looking no different to how it went in.
My Porsche 911 is on a 2 year oil change cycle (as was my BMW), so I'm still mystified as to why it's not advisable to do likewise with the S2k.
Re "infrequent VTEC", living near central London somewhat limits the opportunities. I never rev it out in first so VTEC comes in at what speed in second?

With the kind of mileage you do you probably need to be more concerned about tyres getting old and cracking and greasing up roof seals. But I would never go to a main dealer so they can grease the door hinges and top up the washer fluid and charge the earth.
