Default Extremely Uneven Tyre Wear - On one side!?

Hi Guys,

After servicing the car and having all of the wheels off at the weekend, I was utterly shocked to find that my drivers side front tyre has worn on the inside edge so much that I can barely see any grooves in it! It's not quite enough to make the tyre illegal (as in, 3/4 of the tread isnt bald), but the wear pattern is so extreme something absolutely has to be wrong. The car hasn't been aligned for a couple of years, but if it was an alignment issue would the problem not be prevalent on both sides of the car? My concern is that something is quite badly bent.. That's the same side of the car that had its wing resprayed a few years ago going through the history, presumably following an accident..

Any suggestions or comments welcome, I've seen uneven tyre wear before but never like this!

I would go get the alignment done - first port of call - they will be able to tell you if any thing is bent. Hit a curb or anything? That might explain the one side - it tends to be one side, they are not connected...hence individual adjustment either side and either end.

If it's not the alignment, a bush could be kaput...or both.

Thanks for the speedy replies guys! Okay, I'll go get her booked in for a proper alignment on a Hunter somewhere. I am assuming the stock setup is pretty good? Or are there any fast road setups people universally recommend? I know from my MX-5 days a fast road alignment sharpened the car up no end...

Cheers,

Cheers,
Stock setup per the FAQ is fine, maybe with a little more camber. Symmetrical is best, though.
