Facelift to Pre-facelift engine swap
I'm looking for some help on what would be required to go from a 06 f20c (DBW) to a 03 f20c (DBC). will i need to the wiring loom for the 03 or can it use the 06's? i have a AEM v2 ECU for it. and whats needed to do a DWB to DBC convention.

Isn't the basic engine virtually the same other than uprated valve spring retainers , a few other bits a bobs and what ever was done to reduce oil consumption , so the differences would mainly be to ancillaries , inlet manifold and throttle body , oh and the rocker cover
can remember all the differences , so maybe it would involve changing over quite a few components and not just an engine swap and a bit of wiring !

I would swap to a facelift non DBW engine for the above reasons.
Good luck with the swap - can't help thinking it'd be easier to sell yours and just buy what you want in a running car.

My findings are from looking at 06 unit into 04
Trigger wheel swap, behind pulley and cover
inlet manifold as there are some air way changes
Cam cover,as sensors are in different location
03 may have oil squirter mods/retainer upgrade.

Morning guys, Thanks for the replys. Some more insite i have 2 s2000's one prefacelift and one facelift. The facelift is getting on in age shes at 120k miles now and the prefaclift i just bought is 52k and turbo'd i want the engine and the turbo from the prefacelift along with its engine managment and the rest.. i can take the valves from mine if there in good nick but im fairly sure you can pick some uprated ones for 200ish quid so i might just get new ones. DBC is not a want but more a need as the ecu does not support DBC and to replace is a hefty price..
