Failed MOT on number plate!
Yep they are getting strict. The DVLA are cracking down and strictly enforcing the number plate rules via the MOT test sites. I had to get new plates to pass. Any offers for a pair of illegal plates (S2000 RC)?

I think you should re-register the car with a normal number
I have a spare set of plates somewhere. Must remember to put them on the car before the MOT.

Rob, there's no need to re-register, it's already correct as in my sig. just now. However I have a feeling my plates will morph soon too - also cleaning opportunity behind them + possible Zymol ("polishes the places other beers can't reach") I think
S200 0RC
S200 0RC

Cleaning! I forgot to mention that opportunity, 3 years of grit, pebbles and road grime, after that was washed and that section given a bit of plexus it looked amazing..... then I had to cover it up

Maybe I will check with the MOT tester before I take the car in. I have the subtle S2000RJ not S2000 RJ on the car. I have a spare set of plates with S200 ORJ, but they have Southern C****** name on them.

I'm now looking forward to the same problem with my first MOT - thanks for the early warning....
When switching the plates (S2000 SM/S200 OSM), the front is straight forward as it screws on/off. The back plates are stuck with pads and it's a real bark trying to prise them off/re-attach (I'm just waiting to scratch the paintwork).
Has anyone tried drilling a couple of holes in the back to enable them to be easily switched (I understand there are some fairly narky police around my way so I might have to do this more than once per year!)? What is the worst that can happen? - I assum there is a hollow cavity behind the bumper moulding.
[I can feel people gasping with horror at the prospect of me approching my car, power drill in hand]
I'm reluctant to try, but given this new info, I'm wondering....

Oops - bad time to hit send!
....and the MOT chap will be happy with that? Sounds like an obvious solution if so.
Can't you stick the legal ones on top with some double sided pads
