Federal 595 RS-R Tyres
 

While undertaking some wheel research i cam across these tyres, now federal aren't really a brand i'd give a second look at but these seem quite good. the website i found them on is selling them as on eof their tyre packages competeng alongside the toyo's and falkens etc.

i've tried doing more research on them but only really find the odd forum chatter on them from other car forums.

according to the website they one tyre of the year or something in japan. these look like good competetion for the R888 terrirtory. along with people like hankook.

They dont have 245/40/17 listed?

i think the closest was 255 40 17, is that to wide for most

im using them on my s2k. 215/40/17 front and 235/35/17 rear. Great tyres, however Ive not compared them to R888's~!

what have they been like in the wet?

They don't seem much cheaper than yoko advan AD08's and I know which I'd buy!

i only use one tyre review place, but it is completely dependent on the amount of people using it and that people actually review the tyres, and on there the ad08 only has 1 review

its an interesting read for a website, some reviews i take with a pinch of salt, i tend to look at how many reviews its had, how many miles those review cover (each tyre has a cumulative mileage over each review written) and what cars/people have written them.

its whats making the uniroyal rainsport 2 tempt me.

I used to have uniroyal rainsports and really rate them, they were fantastic. Didn't think you could get them anymore though.

my tyres had them on the website, not checked else where, but as far as i'm aware still in production.

tyres i know that have been discontinued or are about to are the

-eagle f1 gsd3 (died ages ago, but left over stock still about although a lot harder to get hold of)
-falken 452's (due to be replaced with something new)
-ultrac sessanta's (only heard rumors)
-Michelin PS1 and PS2 both out, but still around, new PS3 is now out.

well, i did my ards test with them in the s2000 round oulton in monsoon conditions, and didnt lose the back end once despite pushing it pretty hard. Admitedly a dry line appeared pretty quick. Through druids it was a little 'light' but it didnt give me anything to worry about at all.

Although, thats with tuned buddy club racing spec dampers, corner weighting and a big wing on the back :p

I can understand everyones issues with them being a new name, but they really do perform - alot of reviews are rating them better than the r888's and cheaper.
