First track day
I have just booked my first track day on the 3rd November at Oulton, I have never done one before basically because I am paranoid something will happen to my car, it will be going in for it's 54k service in the next week.
Question is does it really do any harm to the car or am I just genuinely paranoid?

One track day will do minimal harm. It'll wear your tyres and brakes, but they're all consumables.
If you start to do a lot, eventually, you'll have to replace the suspension, but that's only if you're pushing the car REALLY hard.

Oh my birthday!
Let us know how you get on - my other half was talking about buying me a track day but he's concerned about the possible damage to the car whereas I'm just worried I'll be shown up as a crap driver!!!

As for damage to the car. I've done something like 15 track days now and there's no damage to the car yet. (I have been through a lot of brakes and tyres though)

Don't worry about the quality of your driving. If you're that worried get tuition, and there's always people of all abilities there.
