Default Fitment of rear Koni shocks

Hi,

I'm in the process of replacing the rear shock absorbers (MOT failure leaking oil) with Koni Oranges and I'm after some help as the instructions are not that clear. As you can see form the pictures I have stripped down the original shock assembly and everything fits over the new Koni shaft without the need to be drilled as some posts suggest. However I can't understand how the spring sits on the new shock, obviously there is a spring seat on the original shock. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Update: Looking at this thread it appears that the spring seats are reused are they just a force fir on the standard shocks?

You have to use the oem spring perch, whack it off with a rubber mallet
