Default Fitting New Striker Plates

Now I'm sure I won't be the only one thinking of doing this now the weathers getting better. Doing mine this weekend.

I'm sure this has been posted before but had a little search and couldn't find it.

Thought this might be useful.

Well. Fitted the striker plates over the weekend. Dead easy. Took all of 40 mins.

100 times better. Wind noise is now next to nothing with the roof up.

Most of the rattles have gone too.

Much much tighter.

Well worth £70.

mine lasted 3years (JDM spec catches which i beleive are harder wearing). getting wind noise again at 60mph+
i probably wont change them till after summer now; more and more days the roof is being put down so it's pointless

very easy task though.

Are you closing the roof on the button and once closed pressing the button again to seal it? it's like a final nip up. I've met a few S owners that don't do this and didn't know to do this thinking their strikers were at at fault.

Used to do this with the old catches. Made a slight difference but not that much now that I can compare to the new striker plates. There's absolutely no gap whatsoever now. Really tough to do up the catches.

Probably right about waiting until the end of summer, I was going to but had been waiting until the end of last summer as I forgot and didn't realise how easy and quick it was going to be so would've done them earlier.
