Default Fixed my sticking rear caliper

I've had a real problem with my nearside rear caliper sticking the last few days. Anyway, after looking into cleaning it up/refurbing it, I decided I'm probably just delaying the inevitable. I decided to replace the caliper. I checked out various places and eBay. And actually found that my local parkers car parts Place had one in stock for £100 exchange! This I'd the cheapest I've found, and it's the original nissin caliper. All fitted and bled in an hour-job done!!!

Just thought people might want to know another good source for these parts.

That's a good price but not the best. . Brakes international are charging £198.00 for a rear caliper now. Jrt automotive are the cheapest though at around £90.00 each and you can sell him back your old one for £15.00

Edit. I stand corrected jrt are about £130.00 now

Think i need to bleed all my brakes again now though. Got a really spongy pedal!!!

And to make matters worse, I think it might be pulling slightly to the right under hard braking too!!

Lol just change the offer caliper too. If one side is starting to seize then the other side won't be far behind.

Changed one of mine 3 years ago. the other side is still fine. Sounds like a waste of money to change something that still works.

I'd diagnose the problem properly first before forking out another £100

Well, a little update. All sorted! got my lovely GF to sit in the car (bored out of her mind) pressing the brake pedal, and i bled all 4 calipers.

Now have nice pedal feel, and no wandering to either side under hard braking. Phew!

Did you really drive the car without bleeding it first?!

No I bled the caliper I replaced. I had been told by a garage that is all I'd need to do. However the pedal went spongy after about 15 miles, so I just bled them all again from scratch. Funny though because although it fixed the problem, there were no air bubbles when I bled the entire system.

I wouldn't drive the car knowingly with dodgy brakes! That's why after the 15 miles, I had to stop as soon as, and get them sorted...
