Got a model number of the jack please? Just had a look and didn't expect to see them at £100+
U can also get them cheaper but don't know what's suitable.
You'll probably need the car just a bit higher to get even a low jack underneath. I need these for my stock height car. Nothing more than 6 feet of scrap wood shelving cut into 2' and 1' sections and nailed together with flat top roofing nails.
What those two said ^ although I have the 1.5T one https://www.sgs-engineering.com/tja1...m-trolley-jack - it can just bite and lift from the front centre jacking point but easier to roll on to a plank of wood on one side to get it going
Well you do get what you pay for, and given the criticality of the jack’s duty (you might be laying underneath the car for instance) it’s not an item I’d want to scrimp on.
It is one of those garage tools that pays for itself many times over. I paid £200-something for mine nearly 8 years ago, and with light maintenance it has always been dependable.
Make sure you have some decent axle stands and with those and the jack you can get lots done on your car yourself.
If I added up the amount I’ve spent on tools over the years I’d probably pass out, but each one has been a lifesaver at some point (many almost every time I work on the car) so it’s money well spent
