Fog light relocation

Hi guys,

I got a blanking cap from the states to cover the unused bumper hole where an exhaust should be.

Anyway, its all fixed to the bumper, that was the easy part.

I have removed the fog light from the bumper and thought it would be good to use one of the reversing lights as a fog light instead.

Anyway, what I have done so far is:

clipped the reversing light wires that I don't need, taken the bulb and bulb holder out.

Clipped the wires from the foglight and put them in the corresponding holes on the bulb holder (unused reversing light).

I cant get it to work.

Does anybody know how I can do this and sort it out?

Cheers

Mike

Anyone? :(

Should work. Sounds straight forward enough. Have you got any voltage going to the bulb?
Did it work before you started?

Also make sure you are using the offside reversing hole. Pretty sure it has to be offside one to get through an MOT.

Don't the lights have to be on for the fog light to illuminate?

Nottm_S2 03-29-2014 01:15 AM

yes they do

check for voltage first, check the earth

EDIT: Offside or centre is ok for the MOT.

Follow the advice above - also check the fog light itself is serviceable.

The foglight wont actually turn on now, the switch wont illuminate (main lights are on)

I cant work out using the manual which fuse is the fog light fuse.

anybody know which on it is?

Problem solved.

Red nail polished the bulb. Fog light working.

Bumper cap fitted.

You should have the foglight on the drivers side of the car (side furthest from pavement) I'm from NI so they're stricter and it could be different

According to people I have spoken to, and this website

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_130.htm

fog lights have to fitted centrally or on the offside of the vehicle
