Nobody mentioned tapper adjustment. If you do it right, with the less tolerance possible, it will give you better performance than any bolt-on item. There are things that are supposed to be done for the S that most people ignore. Alignment and tappers are the most substantial ones.
Do you mean tappets?
Surely any heat removal from the inlet is better than F all.? And it costs next to nothing.

I just unhook mine from the holder on the edge of the passenger seat, stops the issue. Also causes an issue if you have a passenger and they try and buckle up in terror as they realise they have no seat belt and they are in a car with me

You can just tuck the end of the buckle in to the retainer when no one is in the passenger seat. Job done.

Other mod I've done is a good clean and then Gtecniq c1 - the car basically cleans itself now!!

4)Poly Bushes with chippo mods , stainless washers
5) power flex caster bushes
6)Rear lower brace home made
7)subframes shot blast and powder coated
8) Suspension arms derusted , POR15 and hamerite
9) home made stainless steel tank protector
10) new refurb calipers all around
11) New HEL brake flexible lines
12) Polished exhaust back boxes
13) Roof liner back to rear window
14) pack and mods to roof latches
15) mods to roof catches
16) Battery clamp stainless steel
17) Front OEM bumper pre facelift headlight washer removed all holes filled flush
18) Gear nob , god knows what it is , was given it at supa meet one
19) Aus 2000 leather centreconsole
20) Aus red mats
21)De-rust underneath and POR15
22) Underseal
23)this is a silly thing , polished the Ariel nut!
24)New prop shaft bolts
25) New half shaft bolts
26) Hub nut over tighten as is the norm
27) HEL brakes lines pro- portioning valve to rear
28)mods to improve rear bumper fit
29)Tappets 1 thou under spec
30) Anti rattle mod for bonnet stay
31) All non load bearing low stress bolts under car replaced with stainless steel
32)New ARB drop links
33) New roof
34) paint re-moved from trim around gear lever gaiter and chrome plate polished
35) Swapped seat squabs
36) added padding to improve lumbar support of seats
37) clutch fork mod and grease
38)Debadged
Just thought I would try for the biggest list , sad but true !
