Full Respray, what colour?

i have in my possesion a 2008 08 nurburgring blue s2000 that has had paint stripper thrown all over it and so i am going to fully respray it. It is down as a category c insurance write off because of this. so am i right in thinking that spraying it either grand prix white or platinum white will make it more desirable on resale?i am changing the hood to a black hood too and black seats just incase anyone was going to mention that point..

Spraying it any other colour than it's registered as will make it harder to sell IMO, especially on a newer car. But if it's a cat c anyway, you're going to struggle anyway. Surprised it's cat c just from paint though?!

Regardless what colour you get it done, take pics of evidence of why it was sprayed, with dates and receipts etc.

No offence to the white owners, but what is it about the colour White these days? Its like the "Armani" colour, all started off by Apple with the white Iphone.. Then the car makers got onto it, how many Range Rovers do you see that are white? Loads! Saw an R8 today in Warrington.... Oh guess what, it was White!
I remember looking at white cars in 2002 when I was selling cars... they were worth considerably less than anything metallic (even green!) because no-one wanted them. They didn't shift well at the auctions either, they got lower than book every time
Wonder what the "next trendy colour" will be in 5 years when the whole White thing has blown over..

BTW, I think the OP should paint his car something rare, it will no doubt get some value back if it's cat c.
Cadbury's Purple, anyone?

:D

Knew it was somewhere close, one too many sherbets tonight :D

If you're going to do it though, strip the shell and do it properly - LBB engine bay with any other colour will just look odd.

Sepang Bronze would make a really subtle s2k, but i understand its a Marmite colour.
