Haha I can’t give the winning formula away.

I spoke with KW and recommend dropping from the 10kg spring to a 9kg for hillclimbs. That felt like poor advice. I did some research and found that the springs are 2.5” x 6” standard race springs. Knowing the difference between clubsorts and V3’s, took the plunge on what I thought car needed and within the valving tolerances. I think the minimum you could get away with 6kg. That’s purely a guess without knowing the valving but I think any low would certainly fall out of damper range.

Cheers for the info, i found demon tweeks sold the right springs a while back but its one of those things that i keep meaning to do but never get round to! I'm running the 10kg at the moment and its way too stiff for road use, i was tempted to move to the V3 spring rates and see how that works out.

Yeah jjc or demon are your friend. They sell the faulkner race springs, came to about £180 delivered for four. If you take some of the aftermarket shockers, that’ll be a good reference for spring rates.

Once more I have to say a very big thank you to Ray at Daytona Autos for his time yesterday.
The original plan was to have an early oil / filter change a Geo check/ adjust if necessary and under seal the S.
But I had already decided that as the trip down was wet, it would only be possible to sort the oil and Geo. Amazingly apart from a little adjustment to the tracking everything was as Ray had previously set 18 months ago.
Mike was also in attendance and was desperately trying to gain an advantage in his times for next years hillclimbs by stripping everything allowed from his car much to Rays amusement.
We also had a visit from Robin in the latest (yet to be released to the public) Bentley coupe with the W12 engine and I have to say epic doesn't even come close to describing the sounds of the crackling and pops on that 6ltr engine.
Thanks again Ray and good to see both Mike and Robin (he of the steering wheel trim expertise).

Big day spent repairing the rear arches on the sprint wagon this weekend. Rather than bombard the thread with progress, started a new one for everyone to follow.

Huge thanks to Ray for all his efforts and knowledge. As usual can't express my gratitude enough.

It was about time I visited the chaps at the garage and as usual a good deal of work and banter was happening. Lee was working on brakes, Mike was covering his rear arches with a temporary wrap which I gave a hand with while Ray was dealing with a light rust issue on my car. (It always surprises me how fast Ray sorts something out).

An enjoyable few hours and always worth the 170 mile round trip with the added bonus of lovely weather with top down all day .

Great to see everyone again.

Thanks to Ray for the ramp and valuable advice as usual.

A big thanks to Lee for providing breakfast and to Alex for Lunch

Good luck both. With a little luck it will be dry.
