So I bought a Rover 214 to use as a winter hack which I managed to service on Saturday (with Rays help) for £32, oil, filters, plugs.
Then Senor Carper rocks up in HIS, erm, winter beater?...
Some people just don't get it do they?

Today was a day I was looking forward to with mixed feelings. The S was booked in with Ray @ Daytona Autos for service and a geo.
I had the Castol edge supplied by Oppie, OEM filter, Honda Gear oil and Honda Dif oil from Cox honda.
The worrying part was the geo, as I had no idea if this had been done previously and would any of the bolts be seized?
Under the car and the first one free, second troublesome but free, things were looking good.
Much to everyone's surprise all but one were removed but another few months and it would have been a different story. Worryingly the final rear bolt was seized.
Out with the magic fluid and induction heater, 20 minutes later after a little persuasion out it came. A major result and I was incredibly lucky according to Ray.
Bolts cleaned and greased the geo was completed.
The 70 mile drive home was a revelation, the car felt much more planted and secure.
I have say a big thanks to Ray for his expertise, I'm not sure I would take the car anywhere else TBH. Plus a thank you to all the NW guys for their help and advice today
