Default Getting rid of starter motor squeal without taking it off?

Random question, but my starter motor makes that awful noise when cold when I start it up - and has done for 5 years. It's starting to annoy me now, and also I am planning on potentially changing cars in the next few months so it might need to get sorted - I don't fancy risking breaking the knock sensor by swapping out a perfectly good starter motor just for some noise, so is there anything that can be done with it in situ? I.e spray some air in it or grease or something?

Thanks.

Make sure its a warm day when you sell it? apart from that no, it needs a clean and new grease.

It's simple - just spray WD40 down the ignition barrel and give it 24 hours or so to run down to the starter motor.

I managed to get a good squirt down the barrel but it hasn't made any difference.

Never post something like that on Temple of VTEC - there'd be those that'd try it.
