He's normally booked 6-8 weeks in advance and not sure there'd be anything in it for him. As far as I know he's a one man band and a workaholic as it is to keep up with demand.

Having said that I really like that wrinkle blue D series cover - so may take my cover to him over the Winter sometime

last time I spoke to him, he didn't have any F20 covers in stock so he cant do them on an exchange basis (ie you are without yours while it be being refurbed)

he's on the look out for stock but he needs to buy cheap

Since mine is a second car I'd be able to go without. Provided a squirrel doesn't decide to deposit his nuts in there in the meantime!

Daft question time, but how easy/difficult is it to remove and replace the cover. Should the gaskets be replaced or can you reuse the existing one? Presumably, the bolts would need to be torqued to the correct spec as well??

This is on my list to do, but I'm put off by the potential risk of me cocking it up

Yup that's correct he is without any currently so would be a longer process. Anyone who has one kicking around or know of I'm sure he'd probably like one and would be nice to offer at a fair price.

As for group buy I'm pretty sure the prices are already fair enough for the work involved & happy to pay full price when mines ready for it. I'm lucky my 05 has a pristine original rocker!?

Makes sense to do a valve adjustment and also replace gasket if it hasn't been done before it for a while. Also leave the cover a good 30 mins before starting the car after referring to allow all to settle and seal

The thing I'm going to have to contemplate is whether I want an original crinkle red done, or the MCB. I'm trying to not go mad with stuff to the car so that it's staying close ish to the factory spec.

Can't yet decide if a MCB rocker cover would put me into the direction of pimping that I don't want to go near.
