Your car really is not up to Honda standards. That surging in traffic reminds me of my GF's old Pug 106. That also used to stall when slowing for roundabouts, occasionally and for no apparent reason. I always thought Japanese engine management was better that that!
If it's any consolation, I have a mate with a Mercedes-Benz SL (R129) and that sets itself into emergency get you home mode now and again - for no reason! He has been back & forth with many problems too.
BTW - I believe one should use cloths, not paper for polishing windows. Apparently, paper fibres are extremely abrasive and can eventually lead to fogging or headliamp glare at night.
