well i bought mine as my mate has one and i wanted a rag top i could use al year round rather than my harley which has gone, i did consider another tvr chimeara 4.0 hc but not really an every day car although way faster, so for me the s was the best allrounder. i tried a 2.7 boxster but it wasn't really very fast and was worried about engine horror stories, i like the 3.0 z4 bmw but i hate the front of it and an elise is more in the tvr catagory, ie not an every day car

I had an 06 3.2 Boxster at my disposal for about 3 weeks earlier this year and to give you a point of comparison I think the S being driven properly is on a par with that so if you want to persist that's what you can expect, if you don't then get a 3.2 Boxster for easy point and click performance, I know which one I prefer.

ok cool, like i said the 2.7 boxter was dull, i think i am a bit pissed off because i bought honda thinking it would be reliable, turns out i should have bought tvr because i have had more problems with it in 3 weeks than i did with tvr in 2 years

Unless there is something wrong with yours? Why don't you and your mate do a 4th gear run somewhere and see if they are the same?

Redun is spot on.
You need to retune you expactations of the S
It is only quick when in vtec (even with a blower )
It is not a traffic light GP car
It is a roadster!
Get it checked over and get it in vtec on the twisties then see how you feel

BMW 528 (how heavy is one of those?), TVR, Caterham and now an S. All very different cars IMO, each with their strengths (well, maybe not the BM!) so expect a very different experience. I love the schizophrenic side of the Honda - easy when dawdling around town and responsive and fun when there are some open roads, but that's just me.

the S engine is only really any good for the race track unless you want to break the law all the time
fantastic car on the track, it pulls great when your between 7500 to 8500, but as it will do over 60mph in second gear to vtec in the rest of the gears, well you shouldn't really do it on the public highway
ive also got a 23 year old CRX 1.5 12 valve. there is a steep hill near me where this thing accelerates up it like a scolded cat,
try the same in the S 2000 and it fells like im towing another car behind me. its shite!!!
i highly recommend track day, it'll open your eyes to how good the S2000 is at speed and how capable and stable they are on the corners at high speed.

I must say it revs well, the 528 bmw just has more grunt lower in rev range, you would be surprised, the s seems to run out of any acceleration about 120mph, but i am used to the chimeara so unfair to compare
