Default H1 led headlight bulbs.

Whilst bored at work this morning I noticed that h1 led bulbs are available, just wondered if anybody has tried these with success or are they a waste of time and cash.?

Yeah I have seen these and thought about getting some for the bike. £90 a set aren't they?

Sod that, each bulb is 2kg. 4kg on some lights, not a chance!

Well the bulbs I saw on the suppliers webpage work out at about £5 each(trade) and are H1 size, how can they weigh 2kg, might try one as a comparison, and, ask my mot testing clients about legality.

I recently bought a set of them as a conversion kit, fitted them and they are super bright, but no good for our headlights, because they are longer than a standard h1, and the light only emit's out the side of the bulb and not forward like a normal bulb, the beam pattern is rubbish and no where near as bright as my osram night breakers.

Also had to shave them down because they are too fat to fit in the h1 bulb slot.

Was looking at them because I wanted a bulb that would match my dipped beam colour. But sadly they aren't any good.
They are super bright though.

My push bike light is LED and is 1400 lumens. Car ones are coming out in the range of between 3-4000 lumens.

I was looking at something like this:
