Default Halfords Head Unit Adapter

Evening all,

I popped into Halfords the other day asking about replacing the OEM head unit with a mid range Kenwood one. I was under the impression that it was quite difficult to get an adapter that allowed the dash controls to operate the new unit.

The guy in the shop was pretty helpful and went on a bit of a hunt. He found an adapter that he was sure would allow it to work. Am I being fed the usual or is this likely? Can't remember the exact part but was around 40quid for the adapter.

Sounds about right, think I paid that the other week when I had mine fitted, I think the one I had was suitable for models up to 2006. Works a treat though and defo worth the money

Perfect, I can fit my Blaupunkt now.

Don't suppose there is a method of using the existing CD changer cable for my Blaupunkt changer too? Saves a new cable run.

Johnny/POG, you need to connect the mute wire from the stereo harness to the mute wire on the car harness. And turn on mute on your stereo, perhaps (i did on mine).

The mute wire may well be labled "ATT" I believe
