Can anyone suggest a solution that actually works with the car (ie no removal of roll hoops etc) and is functionally useful? And not stupid money? I'd be in for a GB at £400-£500 region

The Hard Dog one can work without removing the roll hoops, but would still involve some drilling of the car and trimming of trim. It is SCCA and NASA (National Auto Sport Association) compliant in the US and looks like it should be MSA compliant for sprints if the base plates are welded in.

As a total cost example, the price I've costed (for the options I want - you may want different, have a look at the Bethania Garage website link in my first post) are as follows:

S2000 Roll Bar - No Diagonal / No Harness Bar: $550.00 £343.75
Welded Diagonal: $55.00 £33.86
Welded Harness Bar - stock hoop compatible: $55.00 £33.86
Delivery: $215.00 £132.37
Total: $875.00 £543.85

Assuming a $ exchange rate of 1.6 and assuming I can get someone else on board to share the shipping costs. Obviously this doesn't include fitting.

You may need to add vat and duty (upwards of £100) to those costs.

Good point. Assuming import duty of 3.5% that plus VAT brings the total to £671.65 in my example.

Surely your best going to one of the companies that welds in custom made cages to your specification? Not ridiculously expensive and wont need shipping etc.

I hate buying parts from America.

I've just paid extra for express delivery from the US -3-5 day shipping time!

Ha, year right not after UK customs held it for 12 days. In the mean while my car is sat at a tuners unable to be mapped.

Then to top it off Parcel Force held it for another two days, because they was waiting for a nice little letter to arrive at my address to tell me I owed them £35 + a £12 charge.

Fooking shit sometimes this country.........

I'd get my own welded up that was better quality and might save your life.

From what I've read/seen the Hard Dog bars are good quality, but you're right - I shall investigate getting one made in the UK too.

I am sure that the Cusco cage will fit without removal of the roll hopes. The Mugen bar requires removal of the roll hoops along with a roll hoop delete panel which costs around £500.

From what I've read the Cusco bar design equals bling only as I was lusting after one before searching on here.
