Luckily he hadn't taken ownership so it was the dealers insurance that covered the dealer and he will have just had his deposit back.

But it was a huge shame as the car was mint and an incredibly rare colour. It's mental it was written off just for the headlights and hardtop though. The mechanicals and chassis were still pretty much mint.

The moral though, is ask some serious questions about the origins of a hardtop for sale for much less than £500.

yeah I have researched into it. I am going to buy a forbidden one maybe and do what you suggested. and glue the interior with some dark material . it will look like its suppose to be there.They have great reviews. Don't bother me once it is sprayed to moonrock. Surprised more aint on uk cars.

There is one for sale on the forum right now, it is perfectly priced at £800 including fitting kit, this imo is the correct price for both ... who dreams up this 1k crap I don't know

PS I sold my hardtop for £530 and my fitting kit for £300 probably 5 years ago now.
