I've read all the search results but can't find an answer to whether the alpine sub and amp will fit.

I have all other Alpine kit so would prefer to keep with it but the focal sub looks a reasonable alternative

Well I thought that the rip speed sub with built in amp was a bit if a squeeze and it didn't perform that well so doubt if 2 separate items would fit?

I have something similar (see my signature for photos) and I can confirm it sounds very good.

You do need to be a bit careful with the setup as if you set your crossover at too high a frequency (the most common mistake people make) the sub starts to produce too many frequencies which can be determined as "directional" so it sounds like the notes are coming from the boot, which you don't want.

i.e. you want to hear the low frequency stuff, but not be able to tell where it is coming from.

I like those dark side units but they seem I bit expensive by the time they arrive in the UK.
