Has anyone taken a tail light apart?
hey, as you may already know from my other topics i have been posting, my s2k hasnt moved in a couple of years. So im trying to make her look new again (although im finding harder than i thought it was going to be) My prolem is my tail light still has green algie around the lip of the clear lens (not as bad as the pic but there is still some there).
I took one tail ight off the other day because there was water in it, i tried taking it off but decided not to incase i broke it. so i drilled a small hole in the corner to let water out then i stuck a hair dryer on it for about 20 mins to get rid of condensation.
So i was just wondering if anyone knows how to take it apart without it breaking?
Thanks, Dan

I tried that the other day but the green is actually inbetween the clear part of the lens and the actual unit
So i think the only thing left to do is take the light apart.

What I did which doesn't remove the it but does hide it is run black insulation tape around the light.
Looks ten times better as you can't see the green stuff you talk of

i don't suffer from the mold issue but do get condensation building up. i was going to try removing them and running silicone around where the lense sits on the plastic bulb housing.
does this sound like it would help or has anyone got any other cures...?

If you actually want to get inside the light cluster, then here's a video on youtube showing how to do a LED conversion on an AP2 light. It shows how to remove the seals with a heat gun and get into the light. I guess you just need to clean it, and follow part 2 to put it back together
Hope this helps
