Default headlight washer relay location?

Just failed MOT for headlight washers fitted not working.

Strange symptom - when you push first time in ages you get one squirt and after that they don't work.

When pushing the button I can hear a relay activating but the motor doesn't run. Checking voltage at the pump it goes from 200mV or so to 0.0 when button activated.
So I suspect the relay - but where is it??? Can find nothing on the forum or in the workshop manual...

(I know I can get through by removing completely but I don't want to delete)

hmmm. on closer inspection it looks like there's a momentary jump to 12v and then drops to zero which would be consistent with this relay unit being the thing that gives us the normal 2 seconds of spray then cuts out even if you keep the washer held down.

back to the pump and giving it 12v straight from the battery doesn't spin it so prime suspect is now the pump and ill take it out and replace...

So the 2 seconds of on power for the pump and then cut, would happen in here. Perhaps, you're not seeing the 2 seconds on +12V as I find that multi-meters often sample too low to detect rapid changes. You could be better to test it by connecting a 12V bulb to just before the pump. That was you would see it flash for the 2 seconds?

yep, when you pull it you don't get the relay click from the washer button anymore - everything else fine

I think you're right - I could see a flash of 12v on the meter when i tried again. Generic pump should be here today to bodge in instead...
