Was driving into work this morning and was sure I use to see a headlights on symbol on the dash. Should there be a symbol to say that your headlights are on?

...aside from the dash dimming itself and the headlights illuminating the road?

im not sure actually. on my JDM im sure no lights other than full beam (usual blue one).

Yes there is, its a green symbol for dipped and then an additional blue light for full beams

jep little green "pair" of lights bottom right when sides or full are on, extra blue with full beam. Silly question but have you checked sidelights are working?

From the drive home I can confirm that the headlight symbol is definitely not coming on. I just checked my sidelights and both are working.

If a bulb is out would that cause the symbol not to light or is it the bulb in the dash that is gone?

When i first read that i thought "well im sure glad mine is still working"

Got in the car, turned the lights on.............. and no light. FAIL !!

Had i not read this, would not have even noticed.

added to the list of faulty things on the car.
