Default s2000 retiring from daily driver duties - restoration tips please

Hi, new on the forum.

retiring my wifes 05 s2000 from daily driver duties and looking to give it the love it deserves to get it back to a thing of beauty.

wanting some guidance on a reputable garage to sort the underneath bits - suspension ( last honda service mentioned they couldn't align it due to things being siezed)

Once thats sorted it needs a new soft top and new/ refurb of the wheels.

then some attention to the paintwork.

looking to get it back to a nice weekend car, not concours or hillclimb monster.

i'm in nottinghamshire but don't mind traveling to get things sorted, reasonably mechanically minded but short of time (all the time)

any pointers would be great thanks

Andy

Ray at Daytona to fix your suspension and align. Its a 90min drive but well worth it, he knows these cars very well

i’ve used paintology for paint - pretty damn good imo and also used a place in the city, great colour match but not perfect finish imo

As per Mike’s response, the job is potentially quite big and some garages are not familiar or kitted up to do it,

if you know what needs replacing get the parts in advance or you could just buy the entire set of adjusters and then sell or return what you dont need?

the adjuster bolts are pricey. You can import them but equally if you can get em out they can be cleaned and greased

paintology are in Carlton, off Carlton hill.

Im also on the verge of making this decision and will be taking the similar steps. Ray sorted my geometry out, comes at a price but very much worth it.

Center Gravity in Tamworth are S2000 alignment experts and will fit and new bolts/adjusters you need. They're not cheap, but the service does come with a proper test drive to make sure there's nothing awry, and a full 'work out your requirements' discussion, followed by another test drive to check you're happy with the geometry adjustments.

I agree with Centre Gravity. They are perhaps the most thorough and reputable but does indeed come at a price.
