I installed the switch in the little triangular panel by your knee, and around the corner from the radio panel. The panel pops out. I installed the kit in 2007, but 10 years later I have to admit I don't use it much - the battery isn't really dimensioned for the additional load.
Didn't know there was an area there that could be used! Interesting what you say... Do you think running these occasionally will cause issues with the battery? Do these put any more load on than an amp or something similar? Is a larger capacity battery a wise choice as a future upgrade?

Shouldn't be an issue, after all we use the rear screen heater for a few mins, possibly integrate a timer?
Left both mine on for a couple of hours without any issues - the alternator can more than cope with the load when the engine is running. You don't want to run them long with it stopped though.
