Nice! Same Yokohama tyres though? I thought about getting a GT roof a while back but decided to keep it stock, is it any quieter in there with the hardtop?

I have a similar story with my MY2000 with VIN #240. I bought it from a guy whose father travelled from Houston, TX to Los Angeles, CA to pick up the car fresh off the boat.

I was unaware of any promotional packages for early buyers in the US.

I would love to connect with the Original owner just to talk about the car and his experiences. Would be even better if I could find if he had an account here and what his post history might contain. I recall seeing someone commenting about early cars and the dealership causing damage from improper jacking. My car has the side strakes when I bought it and I wanted to add a side diffuser. When I went to remove the lower portion of the strakes, I found a crushed metal panel underneath. I wonder if it was damaged at the guys dealership who then installed the side strakes to cover the damage and make the customer happy? If anyone recalls seeing what I am referring to, please send me a linky so I can follow up.

OP: nice car!

No they were screwed but good eyes

I plan to go back to a more aggressive tyre though, PS4 on these. Too jack of all trades for how it's used and the power

HT just for looks and winter coverage. Don't bother otherwise, they rattle and squeak ime

Hi,

I have an original 1 owner (me) from new registered Sept 1999. My dealer told me it was from the first batch that came into the UK.

Can't confirm VIN as car is currently in for MOT / service, and it has the original engine with circa 67K miles on it.

And, it's in the best colour combination, black on black.

Regards
Bharat

Hi Bharat, I’ve always wondered how many of the first batch are still out there.

I think it was less than 500 that came in September 99.

I didn’t think one would pop up here. 26 years of ownership, sounds like you’ve got a car for life?

Cheers, Tom
