Thumbs up Help - Alarm won't stop!

HELP!!!

As Colin got back to his car to come home from work, the alarm started and won't go off.

Symptoms:
- Will sometimes stop if car is started, turned off, and started again - sometimes not!
- Tends to turn off when driving faster and come back on at slower speeds
- Disconnecting the battery doesn't stop the alarm
- When the alarm is going, it doesn't immobilise the car!

Means the car alarm has been going off all the way back from Dorking to Maidstone (got some strange looks). We've now got the neighbours wondering if we've been burgled.

I'm sure this has been posted before, therefore any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Colin's just cut the wire to the alarm, so its stopped but still need to know how to fix it!

Either the battery is shot

Or the alarm board is fried.

I had an issue with mine a couple of weeks ago with the battery in the hand unit (unless you're talking about the one under the bonnet). Battery was replaced a week or two earlier and despite all of my efforts, the immobiliser and alarm wouldn't switch off to let me go.

Along comes the AA man (says that he has NEVER been out to an S2000 before), tests it all out.... then files down the contacts on the hand unit.

All's well in the world.
